Sheboygan is a city located on the east coast of the state of Wisconsin, bordering Lake Michigan. It's approximately 60 miles south of Green Bay, WI and 50 miles north of Milwaukee, WI. The city is located in Sheboygan County and it is also the county seat of Sheboygan County. The city was founded in 1846 and by 1849 had a sizable German population. Sheboygan is well known for it's Bratwurst, and there is an annual fund-raising festival called Bratwurst Days. In 1995, Sheboygan was recognized by Reader's Digest as "The Best Place to Raise a Family" in the United States. As of 2000, the population of Sheboygan was 50,792.
